Sarah Breen
Class of 2009
Marine City High School Grad is Student of the Month at University of Toledo
The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences instituted a Student of the Month program in January 2013 in order to recognize outstanding students who make a positive impact on the campus and the community. The first Student of the Month award was presented to Sarah Breen, a graduate of Marine City High School and a junior in the college’s new Cosmetic Science bachelor’s program.
Sarah, who was nominated by other students in the college, was recognized for her strong work ethic and study skills as well as her commitment to the success of the Cosmetic Science program and her active participation in student organizations.
Sarah’s tremendous work with Lambda Kappa Sigma, the pharmacy sorority, was also noted. In January, she organized activities with the local Girl Scouts to earn their First Aid badges. Her continual high achievement was among the cited reasons that earned her the Student of the Month award.
The UT College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has a national reputation for consistently training well-prepared and knowledgeable pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists who transition successfully into pharmacy practice and research. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in pharmaceutical sciences with majors in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology/toxicology, pharmacy health care administration, cosmetic science and pharmaceutics; master’s degrees in pharmaceutical sciences and medicinal chemistry; PhDs in medicinal chemistry and experimental therapeutics; the Doctor of Pharmacy degree; and residency and fellowship training.
