Basic Training at Fort Jackson S.C. Trained at U.S. Army Aviation School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Served as a UH-1 Helicopter Crew Chief in the Republic of Vietnam in 1971 and 72. Finished up with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Ks. One son was a submariner in the U.S. Navy and another who graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and served in Iraq. My grandaughter is a high school senior who has already sworn in to the U.S. Army and will ship out 1 month after graduation.
