Services for Joe L. Sloan, 62, of Paducah will be private.
Mr. Sloan died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday at his home.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was owner/operator of Joe Sloan Realty and a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ. Mr. Sloan received a bachelor’s degree from University of Kentucky and a master’s degree from Murray State Unversity. He was a member of the Appraisal Institute, past president and member of the Bluegrass Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and a member of the National Association of Realtors.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Stearns Sloan; his mother, Dorothy Birdsong Sloan of Paducah; one daughter, Sally Jean Sloan of Paducah; two sons, Joseph Wesley Sloan of Mayfield and Stephen Jeffrey Sloan of Paducah; and one brother, Russell Sloan of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Sloan, and one brother, Joe L. Sloan Jr.
Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Drive, Paducah, KY 42001.

My brother, Todd M. Singley died in 2005. He was an ordained Methodist minister serving in the Chicago area. We buried him in our hometown in Illinois. I miss him everyday! Todd had an amazing voice; loved to sing. I will never forget his singing "If Ever I Should Leave You" from Camelot his senior year just when we found out we were being transferred to the Chicago area.
