Served aboard USS FDR, CVA 42 and USS Enterprise,CVAN-65, the first atomic powered aircraft carrier. Got FS Wings at Pensacola NAS, after 6 month program of aerospace medicine and primary flight training. Served in Mediterranean, Atlantic and GTMO.

Served there for 2 1/2 tours with the Engineer Branch rebuilding military transportation infrastructure, recovering heavy equipment and training South Vietnamese Army combat engineer enlisted and officer personnel.
