1 Year shore duty at Little Creek, Va. 1 Year aboard the USS Hoist, ARS 41, Rescue and Salvage. Spent 6 weeks stationed off Bermuda placing underwater hydrophones in Atlantic Ocean up to 5000 feet deep. Used for detection of enemy submarines. 1 Year USS Vulcan, R-5, Repair Ship.

Both ships stationed in Norfolk, VA. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

COL (RET) Marshment is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Advanced Course, Tactical Intelligence Officer Course, Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. He holds a Master of Science in Urban Affairs Degree from Cleveland State University. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with 3 OLC, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with silver OLC, Army Commendation Medal with 1OLC, Army Achievement Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Medal, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. He is also an accomplished runner having completed the Boston Marathon, two Marine Corps Marathons, five Honolulu Marathons, the Richmond Marathon as well as 17 other lessor known marathons with a personal best of 2 hours 53 minutes.

He is currently retired in Bangkok and does limited consulting as well as volunteer work for veteran’s organizations. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Infantrymen’s Association and the Disabled American Veterans. He is a member of the American Legion, Military Officers Association, 506th Infantry Regiment Association and a number of other veteran’s organizations.
