Michael J. Ziegelmeyer
Class of 1970
I volunteered for the Army 1970 to 73 right out of high school. I remember Mr Olsen suggesting that I joined volunteer cuz my life was pretty messed up.
I stopped drugs and alcohol when I was in the army.
I went to Northwest electronics institute and got a 2-year degree in computer technology and worked for magnetic peripherals for a few years. Got married to my white man 1986 April 5th so we've been married 37 years and have one daughter.
My wife and I are both retired from the school district she was at lunch lady and I was a custodian for 20 years.
My wife and I also spend time with habitat international and we met the carters and we helped build houses here some in bed and some in Spartanburg California Spartanburg South Carolina. Also spent three months I think it was 1988 traveling the East Coast framing up houses for Habitat Humanity spending a week framing it up give me the roof on and get it putting it in the dryer and then heading on down to Atlanta where all of habitat National and international met with Mr Carter.
I came to know the Lord March 5th 1980 and between that and the Army my life really turned around cuz I was not much of a guy during High School Days.
But God worked for the better and I have a great family great house and one acre in Bend Oregon and built the house myself and on my 40th birthday we want my family and I walked into it my daughter crawled into it okay it's been a good life God is good faithful to us and we love him and don't leave this earth without knowing Jesus Christ what he had done for us and his great love the greatest love that one can do is to give their life for another and that's what he did for us and I believe that with all my heart have a good life rest of your life sorry for any people that I heard along the way in high school.
