Joined the military right after high school. Has proudly served her counry for ten years. Has been to Korea, Germany, and just recently finished a tour in Iraq (May 2008) in suport of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Served in the New York Army National Guard from 1966 until 1972, retired as a non commissioned officer and chief of the Fire Direction Center for Alpha Battery, first battalion, 209th Field Artillery Regiment (8-inch Howitzer, Self-Propelled) which was with the 187th Field Artillery Regiment out of Brooklyn, NY with was a towed 155-mm Howitzer battalion. Both were part of the 209th Field Artillery Brigade.
