About	Kelly Ray Sawyer, Jr., age 54, of Chesapeake, VA passed away suddenly Sunday July 31, 2022 at his home. Born April 17, 1968 in Norfolk, VA. Kelly is survived by his wife, best friend, and soul mate Donna of 32 years, his brother Mark (Jennifer), sister in law Charlene (Tim), nephews Zach (Stephanie), and Jake, and niece Lindsey whom all he was very proud of. Father and mother in law Bob and Margaret Ange, father and mother Ray and Louise Sawyer. Kelly was a 1986 graduate of Indian River High School. He was a faithful employee of Empire Machinery/CE Thurston for 34 years. Several nights a week Kelly could be found working out or playing racquetball with his closest friends at the Greenbrier North YMCA. He loved nothing more than our “happy hours” on the back porch, listening to music, having a “beverage” and hanging out with our fur babies Pebbles and Vladimir who both also recently passed away. Instead of a traditional funeral, we are having a very small service for his closest family members at our home and afterwards invite our friends to a celebration of Kelly’s beautiful life on Saturday August 6th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Norfolk SPCA at 916 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23504 or to the Union Mission at P.O.
