Dean Helmink Age 58, of Portage, formerly of Gary, passed away at Portage Community
Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2003.
He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, class of 1963, a Vietnam Veteran, U. S. Navy, and was recently retired. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Eugene A. Helmink and brother, Charles A. Helmink.
He is survived by two sons, Charles (Kellie) Helmink of Portage and Dean A. (Erin) Helmink Jr. of Sullivan, WI; his mother, Betty Helmink of Portage; sister, Carol (James) Major of Merrillville; granddaughter, Elise of Sullivan, WI; grandson, Gavin of Portage, IN; cousin Susan McLean of Apache Junction, AZ.
