| About Me | I am Dana...you should know this already if you're here. I was born and raised in Michigan, spent a short stint in Ohio, then down to Mississippi for awhile, jetted off to New Jersey for 4 long years...back to Mississippi...the future remains to be seen...I don't know that I have made my final stop just yet... I created 4 unique, imperfect, yet positively perfect beings. They are the blood in my veins and the air in my lungs. Chandler, Griffen, Justice and Millanah give me a reason to wake up on even the most dire of days. I have two beautiful souls for stepdaughters. Gabriela and Miquela hold a very special place in my heart. I am so proud of the people they are growing up to be. I love that I get to be a part of their lives. I am a big believer in self expression, and that extends to my children as well. I teach them to do their best to keep an open mind and not to pre-judge. I love tattoos and piercings. My appearance has nothing to do with my intelligence, so I don't expect anyone else to be defined by theirs. I am drawn to help people, even when it comes as a sacrifice to myself. Though I don't always like people to know it... :) I try to look for the best in people, and have a hard time giving up hope in someone. I get hurt sometimes because of it, but I doubt I will change. I am bipolar, but it does not define me. With that, I cannot guarantee anything when it comes to my mood of the day...or minute. :) I don't offend easily. Unless you say something about my children! Then watch out. There are also many military members out there that I love with my whole heart. So if you have something negative to say about our military...keep it to yourself. Learning. I love to learn! I started college in 1996 after graduating high school. Four kids and four colleges later, I am finally about to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with my Bachelors in Community Health Science. Already checking out Grad schools...Auburn, Bama? hmm I love sports, especially football, mma, Tigers baseball and Red Wings hockey. But more than anything, I love to watch my children in sports. I have a hard time not being emotional when it comes to watching my kids learn something new, make a tackle, a touchdown, get their first or fifteenth base hit, or my girl at the top of a cheerleading pyramid. I tend to root for the underdog. I love a good story. Making something from nothing is always an inspiration. I have a great mom and dad, awesome childhood memories (some of which my parents are still finding out about) and two fantastic siblings that have always supported me, even when they disagreed with my choices in life. My sister is one of my best friends, and confidants. I can say that there have been times that she has been my backbone when I couldn't do it for myself. I am forever grateful for my family. At 34, I have finally begun to discover who I am, what I like and the kind of person I want to be. It may be later than most, but better late than never. Turns out I am smarter and more capable than I ever thought I could be. I am not letting anything hold me back or down any longer. Success is in my future...
