About Beginning in 1963 Edward was the band and choral director at the high school. At the same time he was a music teacher. In 1975 he became the senior unit director and then assistant principal. He retired in 1994. Edward spent his retirement in Lakeland, Florida and Hampton, New Hampshire. He had five children. At the time of his death Edward was 85.

Mr. Flanagan was a very fine man and a most appreciated teacher/band director. Nothing but very happy memories. I saw in newspapers that after retirement he directed the Exeter Brass Band.
YouTube has videos of his directing the Exeter band.
I'll always have fond memories of Mr. Flanagan.
