Frankie G. Williams, son of the late James G. Williams, Jr. and Helen Green Williams, was born on August 18, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on January 30, 2017, after a brief illness.

Frankie was educated in Baltimore City and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School where people can still remember him being one of the best drum majors ever. He received his Bachelor Degree from Morgan State College (now University) in music. He went on to work at Booker T. Washington Middle School as their music teacher until moving to Harrisburg, Pa. Upon his arrival to Harrisburg, Frankie taught music and was band director at John Harris High School. After leaving the school system, he worked for PHEAA, until retirement.

A musical genius, he could play several instruments, including the piano and saxophone. He was also a member of a Jazz Band while in Baltimore and was active in the Neighborhood Block Watch in Harrisburg. Frankie will also be remembered for his gift to verbally communicate, if he was not talking, something definitely was wrong.

On July 23, 1976, he married the love of his life, Tahlia Jackson. From this union, they have three children, Michael, Krystal and Marcus. Frankie and Tahlia (Cookie) remained soul mates to the end and he will be truly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Tahlia; two sons, Michael and Marcus (Christine), Harrisburg; daughter, Krystal (Thailand), Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Michael, Lakrissta, Tysean, Mara, Chad, Arries and Myshaun; four sisters, Helen, Evelyn, Mary and Jean, four brothers, Thomas, James, Charles, John; brother-in-laws, Kirk Williams and Anthony Jackson, sister-in-laws, Angela Lewis-Browner and Vernell Scott; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra.

Gail M. Ross, 58 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on March 31, 2014 in Harrisburg Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents Kler and Barbara Jones and brother Kler Jones Jr. She retired from Mechanicsburg Naval Depot with over 30 years of service. Gail was a member of Kingdom Embassy, the Hospitality and Women's Ministries and enjoyed bingo, cards, old TV shows and entertaining. She leaves behind her children, Nekesha and Lamont (Chakela Palmer) Jones, siblings, Rev. Vera Watson and Constance Adams all of Harrisburg, Anthony Jones of NY, 16 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Services at 11:00 a.m., viewing 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7th at her church 2111 N. 4th Street.

St., transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Sam and Marie (Simon) Hollman, a 1973 graduate of the former John Harris Senior High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army, an employee of DDSP in New Cumberland and in his leisure, enjoyed sports, dancing, sharing wisdom and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by 3 of his brothers, Joe, Henry and Robert "Bobby" Hollman and leaves to celebrate his life, his common-law wife, Joyce Scott; his sons and daughter-in-law, Jay, Jr. and Tania Hollman of Florida and Tristan Hollman of Harrisburg; his stepdaughters, Teleah Scott of Maryland and Yolanda Scott Humphrey-Thomas of North Carolina; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Patricia Hollman and David and Rhonda Hollman of Harrisburg; his sister, Linda Sample of South Carolina; his two granddaughters; four grandsons; a great-grandson; an uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jay's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29th at 11 a.m. in The Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Jena' Yvette East, the daughter of J. Russell East and Gloria English-East, and mother of Russell Anthony East, was born on Thursday, October 20, 1955 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, January 25, 2006, God dispatched an angel to the Harrisburg Hospital to claim his good and faithful servant.

Jena's life and legacy will be celebrated with a viewing and visitation on Sunday, January 29th from 5-7 p.m., at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg.
Jena's Home Going Celebration will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006 with a viewing at 10 a.m., and services at 12 noon at The First Baptist Church of Steelton, 1850 South 19th Street, Steelton, PA.

Jerry A. Smith, 60 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully in Lebanon VA Hospital on April 5, 2014. Jerry was the son of the late Guy and Carrie Smith and retired from Norfolk Southern as a Railcar Handler. Jerry was also a Navy Veteran, an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball and football. He leaves behind his children; Donteze Adams of Harrisburg, Don Muldrew of Maryland and Garrisha Taylor of Virginia, siblings; Fredrick (Michelle) of Harrisburg, William of Camp Hill, Michael of Bellefonte, Linda, Sandra, Millie (George), Marilyn, Glenda, Rita and Lori all of Harrisburg, an aunt, Minnie Grier of North Carolina, 4 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Judith C. Hill, 85, of Harrisburg, peacefully entered eternal life Tuesday, April 8, 2014, while at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence. She was born May 14, 1928 in Harrisburg to the late James W. Fountain Sr. and Judith M. Fountain.

She received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District graduating from William Penn High School, Class of 1946. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at Virginia Union University and pursued graduate courses in Advanced Education at Tuskegee University and other institutions of higher education. Ms. Hill was a teacher involved with training and teaching throughout the United States, Canada and worldwide.

A lifelong member of Mitchell Memorial Church, she continued her support and membership at Camp Curtin Memorial-Mitchell UMC. She served as Lay Leader, Trustee Board Member as well as with the Church Council of Ministries and the local United Methodist Women.

Ms. Hill chaired numerous committees and received countless awards and recognitions which include: Harrisburg's First African American City Councilwoman; Presidential appointment, Staff Assistant to Director of Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Transportation under Drew Lewis; Dean of Students, Harrisburg High School; Director, Women's Division, General Board of Global Ministries; President, Church Women United; Counselor, Lead Instructor for O.I.C.; Chairman, Commission on Religion in Appalachia; former member of Harrisburg School Board; and Board Chairman, Camp Curtin YMCA. Her other professional affiliations and memberships included Urban League, NAACP, ZONTA International, Who's Who, American Colleges and Universities, Board member, Neighborhood Center and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hill was preceded in death by 2 siblings, James W. Fountain II and Majorie Fountain; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Fordham and William Mays. She is survived by 1 son, Jeffrey M. Hill of Harrisburg; 1 daughter, Judith Michelle Hill of NY, NY; granddaughter, Ashleigh M. Hill of Hampton, VA; 2 sisters, Georgia Mays and Jessie Fordham, both of Harrisburg; other relatives and friends.

Karen Lynn Fuller Witcher, 59, of S. 2nd St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Holy Spirit Hospital.

She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of Audrey Powell Fuller and the late Wayman E. Fuller, Jr., a 1973 graduate of the former John Harris High School and attended Franklin & Marshall College, a former employee of Capital Blue Cross, Indiantown Gap as a chef serving the Cuban refugees, retired from CCS Medical in Roanoke, VA and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Karen's passions were her grandchildren, cooking, jazz festivals, hanging out with her family, arts & crafts, the Philadelphia Eagles and QVC.

In addition to her mother, Audrey Powell Fuller, she leaves to celebrate her life; her sons, Barron, Damion and Shawn (Debra) Earle; her daughter, Kia Fuller; her brother, Kevin Fuller, all of Harrisburg; her 15 grandchildren; her two great grands; her two nephews, Jamal and Jahmekya Fuller and a host of other relatives and friends.

Karen's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10 at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of her Church, Capital and Herr Streets, with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of her Church, at 2339 N. 6th St. with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
