Well, it's almost 40 years since we walked out of E.L. Miller Gymnasium with our diplomas in hand and headed out to make our ways in the world! We're planning a fun-filled few days for our 40th reunion and would love to see you this summer!
On the morning of Friday, July 3, the golfers in our class can head over to Sawyer's Fox Run: $38 per person for 18 holes and a cart. Twenty or more golfers could yield a discount in that price.
Later that afternoon we'll meet at Tammy Roberts' home for a picnic. Bring swimming attire if you want and join us for a casual meal (Kendall Filizetti's famous pulled pork is on the menu) and some great 70s tunes. All the food will be provided but BYO of whatever you would like to drink and let's have some fun catching up with old friends!
Later that evening we can head over to Nordeen Park for the annual 4th of July street dance, hosted this year by the Gwinn Fire Department. It's a free event with a cash bar so let's continue the fun there with some more great music and meet up with friends from other graduating classes.
On Saturday morning, July 4, we're arranging a morning kayak adventure down the Escanaba River, so bring your family for the fun! Soaring Eagle Outfitters can provide rental kayaks ($20) or canoes ($35) for a fun ride down the river.
We're leaving the evening of the 4th free for you to attend any of the many fireworks displays being held that evening. If anyone will be able to stay and there is interest, we can plan a family get-together at one of the local lakes on Sunday.
This information is posted on our Facebook group page (GHS Class of '75—Reunion) and on classmates.com. We'll also provide information for several hotels in the area (Modeltown Motel in Gwinn, Ramada Inn and Holiday Inn in Marquette).
