Deceased in Vietnam in 1970 - US Marine Corp Lance Corporal (E-3) Antitank Assaultman. Died in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam as a ground casualty accident after seven months in country.

Kathy Ruhl
Class of 1965
U.s. Public Health Service, 2 Years
Kathy was not a Vet or a member of the Public Health Service but was a professional singer and musician who entertained the troops in Vietnam. Her show was once stopped because of rocket fire and she had to head to the bunkers for safety.
She was part of a special episode of TV's "China Beach" where her and her band mates recalled dangers that they faced. She received a Peabody Award for "Souvenirs" and was made an Honorary Navy Lieutenant.

I trained in San Diego as Hospital Corpsman (Medic) then transferred to Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland to become a Operating Room Technician and then Research Technician. I spent the last two years of my duty doing stress related research for the Navy where I was published and was awarded several commendations.
