David L. Cates
Class of 1965
Army, 20+ Years
I served 30 years in the Army as a Field Artillery soldier. During the Vietnam years I served in Germany working at nuclear weapons sites rather than in the war. I’ve been very fortunate my whole life, certainly not my doing. My overseas assignments were Germany, Korea, and Saudi Arabia (during Desert Storm). Stateside duty took me to Fort Sill, OK, Fort Hood TX, Fort Bliss, TX, and Saint Louis. I, as well as many of you, have traced my ancestors as serving in the American Revolution. I honor all of our service members, espicaly those taken during their service.
