Shirley Jean Morgan Gardner, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Born June 27, 1938 in Buncombe County, she was a daughter to the late Jesse Wade Morgan, Sr. and Fleecie Omalee Hawkins Morgan. She was also preceded in death by sons; Richard Eugene Swann, Derald Eugene Swann, daughter; Rhonda Jean Davis Lemons, brothers; J.W. Morgan, Jr., Max Luther Morgan, sisters; Virginia Joan Rash Deas, Mary Irene Rash Roberts and great-grandson, Richard “Seth” Brown Swann.
Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School in Leicester. She retired from Brisco, Inc. in Swannanoa.
She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Swann Hall (Steve) of Candler. Daughter-in-law, Barbara Dover Swann of Asheville, brother, Bruce Lee Morgan of Leicester and sister, Martha Belle Rash Liner (Ron) of Pinehurst, NC. Grandchildren; Jerrad Swann (Jennifer), Patrick Swann (Deanna) and Jeremiah Swann (Sabrina). Great-grandchildren; Hannah, Brisun, Greysun, Harrison, Thomason, Savannah, Heather, Joshua and Aaliyah as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also life long neighbor and friend, Rena Camp.
Services will be held at a later date.
