National Guard, 12 Years
I oriiginally joined the U.S. Marine Corps in my junior year (1976). I served for 11 1/2 years. I have recently joined the South Dakota Army National Guard as an MP. I am with the 235 TH Military Police Co. located in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Air Force, 20+ Years
Enlisted feb 1972, basic and specialty school. Nortan AFB, Ca June 72 - Dec 74. During that time TDY Viet Nam, German. Packed parachutes and loaded, unloaded cargo AC. 94 stationed at Yakota AB Japan. TDY apr 75 to Philippines for vietnamese refuges fleeing Vietnam. 1996 stationed at Malmstrom AFB MT. Changed to ground radar operator. Butted heads with the E-9 there and wound up at Tin City AK from apr 77 - apr 78 90 miles above Nome AK on the coast. stationed at Tinker AFB where We started up AWACS as a airborne radar tech. 1981 a bunch of us from Tinker were stationed at Gielenkirchen AB West Germany where again we started up a new base as Nato AWACS. 1984 back to Tinker still in AWACS where we did many TDYs a year (saudi Arabia, Iceland, and may others). was sent to Desert Shield on 8/05/90 came home at the end of Oct and was sent back to the Mid east for Desert Storm until Apr 91. Came home for a couple months and was sent to Insirlick Turkey for 4 months as the AWACS superintendent. Came home put my papers in to retire shortly after and retired 08/01/92. I loved my military experience and would do all over again if I could.

I joined the Navy a month after graduation. While enlisted I was a Hull Maintenance Technician (HT). Over the course of 25 years I served on 9 ships for a total of 18 years 11 months and 2 weeks of sea duty. I retired in 1997 as a CWO4.

Enlisted in AF Reserve in 1985 and was commissioned in 1998. I've done short tours in Afghanistan and Qatar. Been all over the world. The Air Force has been very good to me! I'm proud of all of our alumni who've served!

Started in the Marines in 1985 thur 1990 than jumped ship and went active duty Army for the next 8 years. I took a break and in Dec 2005 decided I missed the serving and quickly found myself on a 15 month tour in Iraq. It was an outstanding tour and I made the differance in peoples lives! I just watch my son leave for Iraq this week. I'm proud of him, he's a fine young man.

Class of 1986!!!! Went straight to boot camp mid-year and came back home to graduate with my class and then off to Germany. 1988 I had a sereious accident and was hospitalized for 1 yr 3 months. I was eventually released on a medical discharge, as I was Law Enforcement and I could no longer perform my job.

Served the my last 3 combat tours in Iraq & Afghanistan for a total of 42 months. I now have sever PTSD & TBI along with other combat wounds.
I have recieved the Infantry Combat Badge and also the Army Combat Action Badge. Been to Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assult School, SCUBA School, BUDs School, Special OPs School, HALO School, CLS Yearly Classes.
My Awards are; Expert in Rifle Marksmenship, Perment Driver award for HUMMVE and Bradley Fighting Vehicle. My awards are Multinational Service Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon (x3), Afghanistan Campain Ribbon, Iraq Campain Ribbon w/Bronze Star, Basic Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (x2), Good Conduct Ribbon w/4 Bronze Knots, Army Achievment Medal w/3 Bronze Oak Leafs, Army Accomadation Ribbon w/1 Silver Oak Leaf.
I know have issues with so many war related issues that the military found me 90% Disabled which at the end of 2011 I will be Medically Retired.
I will live out my years in Colorado Springs, Colorado where I am currently stationed at FT Carson once I am released from the Army. I have NO REGRETES for my time in service but please remember those who gave there all.
