About Me	I was hired for a "temporary" summer job in June, 1973, with the National Weather Service, three days after high school graduation. 40 years later I retired! I transferred with the Weather Service from Great Falls, to Bismarck, to Pocatello, to Billings the first time, to Colorado Springs, to Eugene, Oregon, to Anchorage, and back to Billings in 1996 where I stayed until retiring in 2014. I was a field technician, a pilot weather briefer, radar operator, upper air balloon specialist, observation specialist, supervisor of an office, a manager, equipment repair and installation technician, a workplace mediator for my agency (NOAA), and served on various national teams and councils in Washington DC. It was never boring! I met many people who became life-long friends. After 40 years, I retired from the National Weather Service. But retirement was not for me! My husband Steve and I currently are employed as FAA Contract Weather Observers at the Tulsa International Airport. It is so much fun, and working at an airport again is wonderful. I have two daughters and two little grandsons who still live in Montana. Someday Steve...(read more)
