Born on September 27, 1945 in Wareham, he was the son of the late Stetson and Edith Wood Griffith.
He was a 1963 graduate of Bourne High School and served in the US Navy from 1967 until 1970.
He had been a commercial fisherman and had also been employed at C.W. Douglas Auto Parts in Buzzards Bay. Most recently he was associated with the Mezza Luna Restaurant in Buzzards Bay.
Visitation was held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Shore Rd., Pocasset, followed by burial with military honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Alan Scott Douglas

Alan Scott Douglas, 72, of Pocasset died unexpectedly at home on November 16, 2015.
He was born in Boston, MA, a son of David and Margaret Douglas.
He graduated from Bourne High School and Swarthmore College with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
He was employed at Benthos until retiring two years ago. In retirement, he continued to pursue his various interests: gardening, antique radios, authored several books, historical research and restorations, including rebuilding local stone walls.
He was a man with keen intellect and a generous spirit who selflessly shared his time and knowledge.
He will be deeply missed by his siblings.
There will be a Memorial Service at the West Falmouth Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse at a later date. Please consult Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA for details and to leave online condolences to the family.

Alden Ames Baker, 94, lifelong resident of Buzzards Bay, died peacefully on August 24, 2012 surrounded by his family. He and his loving wife Barbara had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Baker graduated from Bourne High School and worked on the Cape Cod Canal until the start of World War II.
He married his sweetheart and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. His eighty-three-foot cutter was sent to Omaha Beach and was responsible for the highest number of rescues during the D-Day invasion.
Following the war he travelled the Cape while working for CW Douglas Auto Parts Store.
He was a member of the Dewitt Clinton Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, boating and golfing. He was always kindhearted and ready with a joke.
Alden joins his late daughter Barbara Baker-Clark and son-in-law Perley Johnson in heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visiting hours were held Friday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service that began at 12 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne MA.
Burial was at the Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.

Alecia Marie Goulding, 33, of Monument Beach, MA passed away on June 5th, 2018.
Alecia shared many memories with her cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Stephen Goulding; her grandmother, Penny Eldridge; and her cherished cousin, Nicole Goulding.
Alecia graduated from Bourne High School in 2003 and proudly served her country in the United States Air Force before returning to the Cape to pursue her passions of working with children and animals. Alecia’s family was the center of her life.
She was fiercely loyal, sensitive, bright, and always supportive. She will always be known as a “Daddy’s Girl” to all who truly knew her. Her mother Cindy was her best friend and the bond they shared was unbreakable. Her sister Kara was Alecia’s rock, always there for comfort, support, and a smile. Alecia was her brother Stephen’s protector, always watching over him. Alecia was deeply loved by her boyfriend Gary, and together they created many memories. Alecia enjoyed spending her time rollerblading the canal with her mom and sister, fishing with her boyfriend, and playing with her nephew.
Alecia was a sweet soul who made a difference in the lives of others. She was known for her big heart for family and animals; her kindness and sense of humor, and her zest for life.
.A celebration of life was held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.

Alfred Braimen MacNally Jr., 68
Business owner Bourne deputy shellfish constable
MONUMENT BEACH - Alfred B. MacNally Jr., 68, a plumbing and heating company owner and deputy shellfish constable in Bourne, died yesterday at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in the same Buzzards Bay house in which his mother was born.
Mr. MacNally was one of 35 graduates of Bourne High School's class of 1948.
He joined the Navy in 1951 (FP2 US NAVY KOREA) and after an honorable discharge came home to continue the family's plumbing and heating business, A.B. MacNally Son.
As a young man, Mr. MacNally rose to the rank of captain as a call firefighter in the Bourne fire department.
He was Bourne's deputy shellfish constable, a post he volunteered for over the past eight years.
Mr. MacNally was an active member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars P ost in Bourne, the Monument Beach Sportsmans Club and the Weary Travelers Club in Monument Beach.
He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, shellfishing, snowmobiling and whitewater rafting.
Visiting hours were 7 to 9 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.
Burial was private in the Oakland Grove Cemetery, Bourne.

Alide (Giovo) Gallo of Sagamore died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2010.
She was the wife of the late John Gallo.
A life long resident of Sagamore and a graduate of Bourne High School in 1930, she was witty and beautiful and welcoming to everyone.
She was generous and kind and genuine.
Relationships were built on an even playing field, which gave her the freedom to really love people and honestly tell people what she thought.
At age 99, she never lost the ability to talk to young people in a way that they could relate to her. She wanted them to know that she accepted who they are and was able to speak their language.
She lived without barriers between people, rubbing shoulders with some important people and showing grace to people in trouble or with problems.
After living just shy of a century, who can imagine the changes she has seen.
This daughter of Italian immigrants was known as "Nonna" (which means Grandmother) to many more than her family because she was "Grandmother" to them all.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony “Jon-Jon” Gallo.
Visiting hours were held from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road in East Sandwich, followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Allen Morris Reynolds, 66, of Bourne died unexpectedly on October 25.
Allen was born in Providence, RI on September 22, 1949.
He graduated from Bourne High School in 1967 and went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America.
He then served in the US Air Force, where he attained the rank of sergeant, served in the Vietnam War and was awarded multiple medals.
Mr. Reynolds later had a long career in the food and hospitality industry. He retired in 2014.
His hobbies included traveling, restoring his 1962 Ford Thunderbird, attending antique car shows and scuba diving.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Reynolds and his father, Morris Reynolds.
A funeral service was yesterday evening at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Wounded Veteran Retreat Program and sent to PO Box 619, Parkton, NC 28371.

ANTRIM - Althea Slango, 72, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, after a long illness.
She was born in Bourne, MA to Jessie (Crosby) DeLano and Roland DeLano Sr.
She attended Bourne High School graduating in 1956 where she was on the basketball team.
She married Thomas Slango Sr. of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and followed his Air Force career to all parts of the United States and overseas while raising five children and managing a constantly moving household.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peterborough where she participated in the choir and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, did large jigsaw puzzles, and collected cranberry and blue glass. She enjoyed discovering unfamiliar roads and, when she was able RV-ing with her husband.
A private family viewing was held with a later memorial service.

Amy Jean (Soderberg) Petersen age 43 years of East Taunton, MA died unexpectedly Monday, February 18, 2013 at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
She was the Beloved wife of Scott Petersen for the past 18 years.
Born Tuesday, August 19, 1969 in Worcester, MA she was the daughter of Russell Soderberg of Roslindale and Jan Molin of Sandwich.
She was a 1987 graduate of Bourne High School and attended Katherine Gibbs College.
Amy has lived in East Taunton for the past 18 years and had worked for Ocean Spray Cranberries, Hanover Life Insurance and most recently at Harvard Business Publishing.
She was a hard worker and excelled at all levels of her career.
She enjoyed playing with her three dogs in the backyard no matter what the weather was like outside, and was an avid shopper, much to her husband’s chagrin.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA.

Anita L. (O'Neill) Garlin, 42, of Falmouth died November 29, 2008 from health complications. .
She was the wife of John E. Garlin, Sr.
Born in West Palm Beach, Fla. she was raised in Buzzards Bay and graduated from Bourne High School.
For the past 12 years she worked for the Visiting Nurse Association as a home health aid coordinator. She also worked at the Cape Cod Senior Residences in Pocasset..
A funeral service and memorial talk was held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. in Bourne. Burial is in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.

Ann H. Moulton, age 74, of Hutchins Circle in Alton, passed away June 16, 2009, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 7, 1934 in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late George and Louise (Ellis) Hiltwein, she spent her teenage years moving about the Boston area before graduating from Bourne High School.
She became a Registered Nurse after Nurse’s training at the Baptist Hospital.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother, enjoying her home and family life.
In earlier years, she was active in Girl Scouts, church and helping out at the school. She loved riding her bike, going to the beach and doing her puzzle books.
To celebrate her life, memorial calling hours were held Tuesday evening, June 23, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH.

Ann Marie Valenti, 58, passed away peacefully February 5, 2015 in Las Vegas.
Her many friends from church, her workplace, the P.E.O Sisterhood, Chapter "W", and her life in Cape Cod, Mass. walked with her on the last leg of her brave journey.
Sadly, cancer could not be defeated this third time around.
Ann Marie was born Nov. 29, 1956 in Bourne, Mass. to Pauline Brackett Young and Francis O'Jalla.
She was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Robert; sisters, Donna and Patricia; and her husband, Michael.
After graduating from Bourne High School, she attended three years of college.
Her first job was working with her mother and sister at the Bourne Mill, a much loved, special occasion restaurant. She received a penny each for writing a little thank you message on guest receipts. Later, she sang for the enjoyment of the patrons.
Her other jobs included baking bagels, selling Weekenders clothing, assisting with summer camp, and clerking ta a local bank.
Music was her first love.
She soloed frequently at Swift Memorial United Methodist Church in Sagamire Beach, Mass. and eventually directed the choir there. She also directed a highly-regarded mixed chorus known as Saints and Singers.
She and Michael moved to Las Vegas, and Ann Marie became active in University United Methodist Church, singing in the Chancel Choir and ringing in the Bell Choir.
After Michael's death, she earned certification as a medical biller from Kaplan College and worked for Doctors XL until she passed away.
Those who knew Ann Marie will always remember her wonderful singing voice, her inspiring, upbeat attitude, and her loving concern for her friends and family. She lived life abundantly, strong in her faith and generous with her talents.
We celebrated her life at a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at University United Methodist Church, 4412 S. Maryland Parkway, right across from UNLV.
There was a reception immediately following the service in the church's Worship Center.

Anthony R. Cardoza, 78, of Eat Wareham, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham.
Born in Bourne, he was the son of the late Manuel J. Sr. and Antonio (Monteiro) Cardoza.
A graduate of Bourne High School, Mr. Cardoza served in the Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Cardoza was employed as a transporter for Martin Mobile Homes in Wareham.
In his youth, Mr. Cardoza was the former middleweight boxing champion at Ft. Bragg, N.C. and also played semi-pro football.
He was a fan of Boston sports and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was the father of the late Mark J. Cardoza.
His funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Route 28, Wareham.
Interment was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours were from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23

Arnold Swift, life long resident of Buzzards Bay, died Sunday at the Old Bridge Road home of his nephew Russell B. Swift where he made his home. He was 70.
Operator of the A. F. Swift Estate Grocery Store, he was the son of Abram and Rosie (Waterhouse) Swift and was one of the early graduates of Bourne High School.
He was graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business School, Boston, and was an Army Veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Maj. Gen. Wood Post, American Legion.
He was organist for Swift Memorial Methodist Church, Sagamore, and formerly was the organist for the Bourne Methodist Church. He had played the organ at recitals and for radio.
Also surviving are a brother Wilmer Swift of Buzzards Bay, a niece Miss Verna Swift of Bethel, ME, and another nephew Gordon Swift of Buzzards Bay.
The Rev. Wesley J. Vesey will conduct services at 2 P.M. tomorrow at the Swift Memorial Methodist church. Burial will be in the Oakland Grove Cemetery, Bourne.
