Grace Cannon Receives Girl Scout Pin

Pocasset And Cataumet Girl Scouts Advance
An investiture and awards ceremony for 30 Girl Scouts from Pocasset and Cataumet was held Tuesday night at Pocasset Community clubhouse.
Mrs. Frederick W. Fuller, chairman of the troop committee, was master of. ceremonies and introduced the new troop leader Miss Annie Poole. Miss Poole has had many years experience in scouting and is president of the leaders group in New Bedford. She gave a short talk to the girls on scouting.
Fourteen new girls were invested and received their pins, including Susan Bradley, Grace Cannon, Janet Cushing, Karen Gibbs, Sarah Phinney, Marcia Watt, Carol Wright, Linda Cooper, Carol Dainty, Marion Towne, Nancy Wheeler, Ethel Lanstrum, Mary MacLeod and Anna Cassanova.
The older intermediate girls received badges and awards for work accomplished from their former leader, Mrs. Edward D. Ryder.
The senior girls received their senior pins and will now become Mariner scouts with Mrs. Robert D. Gibbs as their leader.
Refreshments were served by Mrs. Julius P. Kelley and Mrs. Sumner Christian.
