Miss Taylor Wed To Brice Saunders Sumner
In a family ceremony at the Cataumet Methodist Church at noon on Tuesday, Miss Shannon Taylor of County Road became the bride of Brice Saunders Sumner of Cambridge and Nashville, Tenn.
The Rev. J. Gordon Allen officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Watson Taylor of Cataumet.
Mr. Sumner is the son of Col. and Mrs. George B. Sumner of Okinawa where Col. Sumner is a U. S. Army District Engineer. The Sumners made their home for three years in Bourne while Col. Sumner was an engineer at Camp Edwards.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white linen afternoon dress with a small hat and carried a bouquet of white roses. The Matron of Honor was her sister, Mrs. Karl R. Burton of Squantum. Mr. Burton was best man for the bridegroom.
A buffet luncheon at the Taylor home followed the ceremony. Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. Marion A. Gilbert, grandmother of the bride; Mrs. Charles E. May of Nashville, grandmother of the bridegroom; Miss Rosalake Sumner, his sister and Miss Ilze Kulvluskis of Hopkinsville, Ky.
Mrs. Sumner, a graduate of Bourne High School, attended the University of Maine and Cape Cod Secretarial School.
Mr. Sumner returned to Harvard in February after Army service, including a year in Korea, They will make their home in Cambridge.
