Linda Cooper Of Pocasset Bride Of David B. Eberhard
Gladiolas, ferns and a white centerpiece on the altar decorated the Cataumet Methodist Church Saturday, September 2, for the wedding of Miss Linda Ruth Cooper to David Boyd Eberhard.
The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cooper of Circuit Avenue, Pocasset. Mr. Eberhard is son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Eberhard of Hudson, Ohio.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Roger Blinn of the Whitman Baptist Church and the Rev. Sherwood A. Treadwell of the Bourne Methodist Parish.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was in a wedding gown with antique peau de soie skirt and top of re-embroidered aiencon lace with a bateau neckline and short sleeves. Her orange blossom crown held a fingertip veil. She carried a prayer book with white orchid and stephanotis streamers, and her great grandmother's wedding handkerchief.
As maid of honor Miss Nancy Booth of Washington, D.C. wore an aqua silk organza over taffeta gown with portrait neckline and back gathered into a bustle, an aqua crown with a short veil and carried a cascade of yellow carnations.
Lynn Noyes, in yellow silk with a lace jacket was flower girl. Richard Kenney was ring bearer.
Best man for Mr. Eberhard was Stanley A. Bell of Bethesda, Md.
Charles E. Kenney of Pocasset and Rodney H. Cooper of Medford were ushers.
A reception followed in the parish hall of the Cataumet Church for 100 guests. Mr. Eberhard is a student at Kent State University in Ohio; having recently completed active military duty, he is now in the Ohio National Guard.
The new Mrs. Eberhard, a graduate of Bourne High School and of Fisher Junior College, has been working with the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington.
After a wedding trip to Provincetown and New York City, they will make their home in Hudson, Ohio.
