Rodney Valentini Letterman in 1956/57 Basketball Season

BOURNE NEWS - Cage Capsule
The Canalmen of Bourne completed their basketball season last Friday on the New Bedford Tech floor losing to Dighton 52-49.
In rounding out the schedule, Bourne won eight games while losing 12. In large school play the mark was 5-4 including a forfeited victory over Falmouth on January 10. Against small Cape schools the mark was three wins and five losses.
Charlie Weston became the work horse of the squad appearing in all 20 games and pouring 227 points through the hoop, high for the team.
Bob Cahoon, playing in the last 11 games amassed 205 points for an average of 18.6 points per game, high for the team.
If Dick Palomba and Wayne Upton regain their eligibility, the starting squad will be intact for next season.
Coach Andy Laughton has announced the following lettermen from the 1956-1957 basketball season:
Bob Cahoon, Captain, Pete Cardoza, John Alden, Rodney Valentini, Phil Curry, Charles Weston, and Barry Girard.
Weston and Valentini also earned sweaters.
Certificates will be presented the seven lettermen at a future assembly.
