BHS Whips Orleans - Seventh Win
The Bourne High School quintet started and ended fast to win a 78-70 basketball game at Orleans Tuesday night.
Bobby Driscoll and Charlie Weston were the big guns for the Canalmen with 28 and 26 points.
The win gave Coach Lou Backhand's team a season record of seven wins and one loss to Dartmouth; four wins and no losses in league play.
It was team play and accuracy that put the Upper Cape team ahead. Bourne cashed in on almost half their shots from the floor.
Bourne ran up a 19-8 advantage in the first quarter, then Orleans for two periods cut into that lead. It took a 28-point fourth quarter to give Bourne its final eight point lead.
