BHS Track Team To Compete At Nauset
Much interest is being shown at Bourne High School in the track program being developed by Coach Knute Andersson.
Bob Murphy, a senior who won his letter last year in pole vaulting, and Walter Rogers, sophomore who won his letter last year in the high jump, are the nucleus of this year's team.
Last year was the first of competition, although some training had been held for the two previous years.
Bourne has no track and the boys practice on the grass back of the old grammar school in Bourne. They have also made pits there for jumping.
Out for track this year are Gerard Czarnetski, Kenneth Churbuck, Charles Deriham, James Gable, Danny Jarvis, Jack Lane. Robert Murphy, Robert Mendes, Robert Morris, Walter Rogers. John Staley, Jim Walsh, Jim Gallerani, Bill Tripp, Robert Parady, Charles Prete, Barry Lane, George Tinker, Dan Jurinic, Mike Leeny, Bruce Haskins, John Quaschnik, Dick Sassone, Robert Borchard, Rick Young, Tim Sykes, Mike Barber, Roy Fraser, Mike Butler, Ronald Bowman, Robert Cruse, Robert Nickerson and Stewart Pippin.
