Edwin Wheeler Talks to Parents By Radio

Talk To Pilot Son In Azores By Radio
Mr. and Mrs. Francis L. Wheeler of Monument Beach received a call Tuesday noon by phone patch connection from their son, Lieut. Edwin C. Wheeler in the Azores through a "ham" radio operator in Cambridge asking them to go to Bill Perry's shop.
There they talked directly with their son over Bill Perry's amateur set.
Between the two calls to his parents Lieut. Wheeler had contacted a "ham" in New York who was able to reach his sister Janet, Mrs. Bryan Wilson.
Lieut. Wheeler, an Air Force pilot, was on his way to Germany and Tripoli.
