Edwin Wheeler Assigned to Ellington Air Force Base

LIEUT. EDWIN F. WHEELER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis L. Wheeler of Monument Beach, has been assigned to Ellington Air Force Base at Houston, Texas, where he will be pilot of an Air Force Convair T-29, the flying classroom aircraft used in the training of navigators and radar observers.
Lieut. Wheeler was graduated with honors from the multi-engine pilot training program at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock Texas. He began his aviation cadet training program in January 1953 at Lackland AFB. Before that he was for two years a student at University of Maine, where he became a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Summers while at Maine he was on Bourne Police Department. He continues in the Air Force his hobby of drumming, begun when he was at Bourne High School.
