Miss Sally Ann Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Smith Jr. of Interlaken, N.J., was married to Harold Gray Washburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Washburn of Pocasset Saturday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church in Asbury Park, NJ.
The bride wore a wedding gown of French imported organdy with a scoop neck, short sleeves and a full skirt with a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of lily of the valley and sweetheart roses and wore a finger tip veil with a crown of lily of the valley and pale pink roses.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Church was decorated in pink and white roses, peonies and gladioli.
Miss Mary Jane Smith, twin sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a pink hand embroidered organdy gown with short sleeves, full skirt, and a wide sash with a large bow.
Bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Chambers of Wanamassa, NJ and Miss Faith Crawford, cousin of the bride, also of Wanamassa. Sister of the groom, Miss Connie Washburn, was junior bridesmaid.
The bridesmaids carried pink flowers and wore the same model embroidered gown worn by the matron of honor. Miss Connie Washburn wore a white organdy over pink gown with pink sash and a flower crown and carried a basket of sweetheart roses.
Best man was David J. Murphy Jr., of Boston. Charles Washburn, brother of the groom, ushered with Carl O. Richardson Jr., Stephen Claughton and Robert L. Parker, all of Amherst.
After the service more than 100 persons attended the reception at the Old Orchard Country Club at West Long Beach, NJ. Pink and white flowers decorated the country club and the cake was decorated with fresh flowers.
Mr. Washburn, who will be a senior at the University of Massachusetts this fall, is a member of the Tau Kappa Epislom Fraternity.
This summer he will work as a draftsman with the New Jersey Natural Gas Company.
Mrs. Washburn attended Green Mountain Junior College in Poultney, VT and will join the University of Massachusetts Department of Zoology as a research assistant in the fall.
