Edward Ira Cannon and Janet Evelyn Manchester Marry

Miss Manchester Marries Edward Cannon Saturday
Miss Janet Evelyn Manchester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fremont Manchester of Monument Beach, and Edward I. Cannon, son of Mrs. Edward J. Cannon and the late Mr. Cannon of Cataumet were married Saturday afternoon, June 29 in the Bourne Methodist Church by the Rev. Orville E. Crain. The church was decorated with Shasta daisies and gladioli, carnations and double babies breath.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white, ballerina length gown with lace bodice and soft, scalloped neckline and short sleeves. The very bouffant skirt of nylon chiffon was gathered in at the waist.
She wore a fitted cap of lace embroidered with seed pearls and a French illusion with a fingertip veil, white kid pumps, and single strand of pearls and small drop pearl earrings. She carried a bouquet of white phaleanopsis orchids, stephanotis, and Ivy leaves tied with satin loops.
The bride was born in Acushnet and attended Bourne High School in 1954 and Katharine Gibbs School in Boston in 1956, and has been employed as secretary to the business manager of the Gibbs School.
The bridegroom was born in Woburn arid attended Bourne High School. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and is a licensed crane operator and member of Sagamore and Aptucxet Rifle clubs.
Following the reception the couple left on an extended wedding trip to the West.
