Girls Volunteer For First Pep Squad

New at Bourne High school is a pep squad, organized by the girls who were inspired by the work of the Falmouth Girls pep squad at the Bourne-Falmouth game.

Soon after that game a delegation of freshman and sophomore girls went to school officials to request such a squad at BHS. Permission was granted and strength of Interest Is shown by the 82 girls who have signed up.

Purple and white Bourne beanies have been ordered for the girls who hope next year to have purple skirts and white sweaters to distinguish themselves from the student body at games.

A first pep rally was prepared and directed last Friday by freshman and sophomore members.

Junior and senior girls will direct pep rallies this Friday in the morning for the juniors and seniors and in the afternoon for freshmen and sophomores. These will be held before each home game. The main function of the squad will be to "back-up" the cheerleaders at football and basketball games.
