Falmouth Enterprise, Friday, August 12, 1960, Page 9
Miss Helen Frances Lamken Bride Of James Michael Boles Jr.
Miss Helen Frances Lamken, daughter of John Francis Lamken of Head of the Bay, Buzzards Bay and the late Mrs. Lamken became the bride of James Michael Boles Jr. Saturday morning at St. Margaret's Church in Buzzards Bay, solemnized by the Rev. John Wilcox of Bridgewater, a friend of the family.
Vases of white gladioli were on the altar.
Miss Ann McComiskey played traditional selections on the organ and accompanied Mark Mooney of Sagamore, who sang "On This Day" and "Panis Angelicus".
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a gown of white tulle with inserts of lace. The fitted bodice featured a scoop neckline and cap sleeves and her southern belle full length skirt fell softly over hoops. She wore a fingertip veil caught to a small cap and carried a cascade arrangement of white roses.
Maid of honor for her sister was Miss Rita Lamken of Buzzards Bay, gowned in colonial blue silk organza with a low round neckline, capped sleeves, imperial length bell skirt, a rose length circular veil caught to a jeweled cap and short white gloves
The bridesmaids, wearing similar gowns in delft blue, were Miss Lisa Koskela of Buzzards Bay and Miss Barbara Morway of Wollaston. Miss Judith Boles, sister of the bridegroom, was junior bridesmaid. All carried hand styled cascade arrangements of pink roses.
Best man for the son of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Boles of Main street, Sagamore was Gerald Boles of Sagamore, brother of the bridegroom.
Serving as ushers were Peter Mackesy of Monument Beach and Edward O'Brien of Mattapan, cousin of the bride.
About 150 guests were present at the reception and buffet luncheon at the Elks Home in East Wareham. Tables were centered with arrangements of white snapdragons and carnations. Red sweetheart roses encircled the lovely wedding cake and the table set for the wedding party.
Mrs. John O'Brien of Mattapan. aunt of the bride, received guests wearing a beige silk with lace afternoon dress set off by a small cinnamon colored flowered hat and gloves and a corsage of pale pink roses. Mrs. Boles, mother of the bridegroom, wore a pink silk flowered afternoon dress with pink picture hat and corsage of roses.
The bride was attired in a beige linen sheath dress designed with a lace top and a linen bolero jacket complemented by a light blue hat and accessories and a white rose corsage as they left for a wedding trip to New Hampshire.
The bride had been honored at three bridal showers, by Mrs. Ruth Fleming at her home in Onset, by the bridesmaids at the Bourne Memorial Community Building and by Miss Virginia Davis at her home on Shore Road at Monument Beach.
The bride entertained the wedding party at the home of her father following the wedding rehearsal.
The couple will make their home on Main Street in Sagamore, as he is employed by Boles Brothers Plumbers in that village.
