Young Members Present Program at Pomona Grange
In spite of inclement weather 86 persons attended sessions of Cape Cod West Pomona on Saturday when Pocasset Subordinate Grange served as host.
Welcome was given by Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller, Master of Pocasset and response by Mrs. Arlene Bumpus, Falmouth, who ls the Lady Assistant Steward of Pomona.
The evening session was in charge of Pomona Youth Committee, whose members filled the chairs as follows: Beth Maxa, Pocasset, Master; Harold Crocker, Falmouth, Overseer; Beverly Govoni, Cotuit, Lecturer; Karl Poison, East Sandwich, Steward; Kay Mallen, Falmouth, Chaplain, Gordon Gorman, Blue Hills Pomona, Gatekeeper; Shirley Westgate, Sippican, Ceres, Linda Haskell, Buzzards Bay, Pomona, Gay Anderson, East Sandwich, Flora and Jeanne Anders, Pocasset, Lady Assistant Steward. This group, whose ages are 35 years or younger, also presented the program.
Miss Maxa gave a report on Youth Days at National Grange and the seven basic keys of the Youth program were explained by Gay Anderson, assisted by Danny Cullity.
There was community singing, a cornet solo by Miss Anderson, selections by a trio composed of Miss Anderson, Miss Maxa and Miss Anders; and a pantomime by Miss Maxa.
Mrs. Fuller, youth chairman, read a poem typical of youth in the Grange, entitled "The Answer".
