School Lunches Have Their Week

This week Bourne High school is taking part in the first national School Lunch Week being observed from October 14-20.

It will be celebrated annually during the seven day period beginning on the second Sunday in October. Each year the President will Issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe this occasion appropriately. This year Massachusetts is celebrating its second School Lunch Week. The theme for this festivity is "School Lunch is Big Business," which features the role of the school lunch in the economy of Massachusetts. To demonstrate this at Bourne High, as well as at all other schools ln the Bay state, the same set of menus will be served during the entire week.

The highlight this year at Bourne High is visits of parents to the cafeteria. Open house is being held Thursday, beginning at 12:45.

Serving the students as well as the parents are the Mrs. Ann D. Harrington, manager of the cafeteria staff at Bourne High, and Mmes. Theresa M. Pederzani, Lois E. Selig, and Victoria D. Kennedy. The entire program is under the direction of Mrs. Eleanor Harding.
