BOURNE
The records of the following pupils during the past school year entitles them to admittance to the Bourne High School:
Ella F. Chamberlain
Charles L. Douglas
Wm. F. C. Edwards
Grace D. Ellis
Jesse H. Ellis
Agnes P. Blackwell
Edith F. Handy
Eleanor Parker
Margie M. Swift
Leroy F. Swift
Robert G. Bourne
Priscilla M. Hill
Evelyn Perry
Blanche Tobey
Rose C. Landers
Frank D. Hall
At the opening of the fall term of 1894 the upper grade classes of the various schools seemed to vary greatly in the amount of work accomplished, but because of the absence of a record of the work of several schools, all who had more than completed the work of the sixth grade were allowed to try to complete the work of the eighth grade during the year. At its end, a considerable difference was still noticeable in the several schools, partially accountable by the more favorable circumstances under which some classes worked than others enjoyed.
A number of the above pupils had not time to cover the work as completely as in more closely graded schools and have for this reason been admitted on probation, although some of them have done work creditable to pupil and teacher alike and are expected to take a high rank in their class with the new year.
E.J. Edmands, Supt. of Schools, Sandwich, Mass.
