Bourne Grammar School Orchestra Plays At Assembly
The new trumpet players in the Bourne Grammar School orchestra are sixth graders Brian Fader, David Gibbs and John Lawless.
The orchestra had its debut this year at the Friday morning January assembly at Peebles Elementary school. The 20-pupil orchestra played the Assembly march. Marjorie waltz and the Sorority waltz. Different members of the group demonstrated their instruments to the10 parents of first graders and the pupils themselves who could some day be members of thc orchestra. Carleton R. Thorne, music supervisor, introduced Mark Straff in trumpet; Carol Worcester, trombine, Andria Bassett, alto horn, and Claire Dainty, mellophone, representing the brass section; Margo FitzGerald, clarinet, Paula FitzGerald, alto sax, Rebecca Braley, flute, showing the woodwind instruments; Louis Taylor, snare drum, David Walker, bass drum. Eleanor Stahura, glockenspiel, percussion instruments.
