Janet Elizabeth Cushing Wed to Russell H. Taft

Miss Cushing Wed
To live in Sunnyvale, CA are Mr. and Mrs. Russell H. Taft, married September 9 at the First Methodist Church in Chatham. The Rev. Harry B. Hill performed the four o'clock ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Rose Acres Inn, Chatham.
The bride, the former Miss Janet Elizabeth Cushing, was given in marriage by her father, Preston L. Cushing, now of West Chatham.
She wore a cocktail length wedding dress of white satin brocade, a pleated organza cap to which was fastened a triple-tiered chapel length veil and she carried a cascade of white roses.
Mrs. John B. Jenkins of Pocasset was matron of honor. The bridegroom, son of Robert Taft of Brooklyn, N. Y. and the late Mrs. Taft, had as best man his cousin, Vernon Barrows Jr. of Mendon. Ushers were Robert P. Cushing of West Chatham and John B. Jenkins of Pocasset.
The bride's family formerly lived on Barlows Landing Road in Pocasset, and she was graduated from Bourne High School.
The bride also was graduated from Colby Junior College and her husband from Cornell University where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He is a Research Engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation.
Their wedding trip was to Colorado after which they continued west to their new home in Sunnyvale.
