Miss Wright Wed to T. N. Motte; Wedding Monday at Pocasset
Church With Reception at Bride's Home
In a double ring ceremony at Pocasset Baptist Church Monday, Miss Bernice Natalie Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Wright of Pocasset, became the bride of Pvt. Thomas Nesmith Motte, son of Mr. Mr. and Mrs. John Motte of Hatchville. The Rev. Allen Bronsdon of North Attleboro, assisted by the Rev. Roger D. Blinn of Pocasset, performed the ceremony at 1:30 P. M.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents with 50 guests present. After a wedding trip south, the couple will make their home in Florida where Pvt. Motte is stationed with the air corps at Tyndall Field.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown with a fitted satin bodice, lace trimmed neckline, full tulle skirt and long train. Her furlough length veil fell from a Juliet cap of beaded pearls, and she carried an old-fashioned bouquet.
Her sister, Miss Barbara Wright, as maid of honor wore a gown of blue marquisette with a full skirt and square neckline, and a shoulder length veil with a crown of blue flowers. The bride & mother wore aqua crepe with white accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a two-tone print dress with navy accessories. Both wore corsages of mixed flowers.
Cut spring flowers decorated the church altar. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Louis Perry, organist, who accompanied Miss Nellie Crabe, vocal soloist. Miss Crabe sang Always and O Promise Me, also a number of popular love ballads before the ceremony.
Best man was Pvt. John Motte Jr. who came from California to attend his brother's wedding. The two had not seen each other in two years. Richard L. and Arthur H. Motte, also brothers of the bridegroom, were ushers.
Mrs. Motte was born in Pocasset. She is a 1941 graduate of Bourne High School and Perry Normal School in Boston.
She has been teaching school for the past two years in Amesbury and recently the first grade in Auburn. Her mother is a teacher at Teaticket School.
Pvt. Motte enlisted in the Air Corps as a cadet more than a year ago. A native of Falmouth, he operated a gasoline station in Buzzards Bay before entering the service.
