Barbara Jacobs Played Taps

SCOUTING BYWAYS
a Brownie fly up was held Thursday afternoon at the Bourne Memorial Community Building.
Barbara Jacobs, trumpeter blew the assembly after which Girl Scouts formed a horseshoe. The Brownies formed a horseshoe facing them making a large circle around a Maypole.
Mrs. Vernon McKenzie, leader of the second grade Brownies, presented stars for attendance to her girls after which Mrs. William Hemmerly presented stars to girls in the third and fourth grades Brownie Troop.
The Girl Scouts then presented their little sisters with a pine cone signifying Pine Cone Troop and pinned on their wings. All joined the goodnight circle around the Maypole as Barbara Jacobs played taps.
Refreshments were served the parents present, Scouts, and committee members by the new Scouts:
Kathy Aison, Kathy Burns, Muriel Davis, Cathy Demoranvill, Paula Harrison, Linda Larson, Rebecca Lott. Sherry Martinson, Dianne McKenzie, Beth Moreland, Cheryl Reed, Marcia Sanders, Mary Sweeney, Jane Tilton, Cynthia Tomolpnis. Cathy Van Keuren. Nancy Yates and Paula Rusmisol.
Girl Scout Big Sisters were Sharon Johnson, Cheryl Ciotte, Betty Jean Hemmerly, Sharon Worcester, Lynn Harrison, Linda Nonamaher, Sandra McKenzie, Elaine Ellis, Judy McKenzie, Barbara Baker, Patty Stowe, Jean Sanders, Freda Habib, Judy Bonvie, Barbara Maxwell, Carolyn Jackson, Doris Loeser, and Penny Holmes.
