Pep Rally
Class of 1963
Falmouth Enterprise, Tuesday, October 30, 1962, Page 9
Pep Rally
The student body and Bourne High faculty were the guests at what many of them called an extremely well presented pep rally Friday afternoon, one of the best of the season.
It included members from such Bourne High organizations as the Athletic Association, the pep squad, and the B.H.S. cheerleaders. The A.A. opened the rally with a skit entitled the "candy 'store." This was the first time this association has appeared in a pep rally this year, and it Introduced to the spectators the girls who work behind the scenes at all our football games.
Members of the A.A. include: Nancy S. Cabisius, Virginia Dechene, Lee Douglas, Peggy Dechene, Barbara Towne. Mary J. Beth Spooner, Beverly Harris, and Elaine Colgan under the supervision of Mr. Leo Manning.
The cheerleaders in their colorful purple and white uniforms were next on the program with several Bourne High cheers. They aroused the student body with such enthusiasm that when they finished, there was but one thought left in everyone's mind — Beat Barnstable.
Next came the pep squad to entertain with four skits of their own: Purple and White Riding Hood, Cinderella, Snow White and the Linemen, and Purple Peter Pan. Under the direction of the squad's captain, Beverly Bennett, and with narration by Gail Johnson, the skits proved to be a humorous success.
After the presentation of "Radio Fun" by the Athletic Association, Principal Walter Stahura led the student body in some favorite school songs, ending the pep rally with the singing of the Alma Mater.
