Beth Maxa is Third in Statewide Contest

Beth Maxa, l6 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Fuller of County Road, Cataumet, has been announced as third prize winner for most outstanding youth in Grange work in the State.

Announcement was made last week by John Bowers, chairman of the State Grange Youth Committee. Prize is a part scholarship to State Grange leadership training school held at University of Massachusetts.

Miss Maxa holds the office of Lady Assistant Steward in the Pocasset Grange and is chairman of Its youth committee.

Her report of youth work was rated fourth highest in the state. She has a strong Grange background.

Grange is truly a family affair. A grandfather Maurice L. Fuller is a past master of Pocasset Grange. Her father, Charles Fuller, has just been Installed as master of Cape Cod West Pomona, is patron of Pocasset Juveniles and past master of Pocasset Grange. Her mother holds the offices of lecturer of Pomona and steward of Pocasset. Her brothers and sisters are Juvenile Grangers with M. Charles Fuller, overseer; Dorothy Fuller, lady assistant steward; Edward Maxa, executive committee and Linda Maxa, an active member. Only Ricky Fuller, aged 3. is not as yet a full fledged Granger, though he attends all Juvenile sessions with the rest of the family and is looking forward to when he will be five years old and can really join.
