Nov. 4 Wedding For Miss George, Coast Guardsman
Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Charlotte Ruth George to Haskell E. Hawkins.
Miss George, the daughter of Mrs. Alfred George and the late Mr. George of Sandwich Heights, formerly of Sagamore, was graduated from Sagamore Grammar school and in 1958 from Bourne High school where she played basketball and was a member of the school chorus and the Athletic Association. She is employed at the First National store in Buzzards Bay.
Her fiance, who is Engineman Second Class in the Coast Guard has been stationed aboard the Yakutat at the State Pier in New Bedford for the past two years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Hawkins of Seneca,S. C, where he was graduated from the Keowee High School and played on the football team.
The couple have set Nov. 4 at 1:30 P.M. at the Swift Memorial Methodist Church in Sagamore for their wedding.
