Bourne High will Graduate 38; Ten to Seek Future Education; Four Join Service Shortly

Bourne High will Graduate 38; Ten to Seek Future Education; Four Join Service Shortly
Thirty eight students will be graduated from Bourne High School Thursday evening at 8 P.M.
Aside from the more usual honors accorded graduates this class apparently will carry the distinction of being Bourne's last students for some years educated in regular and not double session schools. Of these 8 students ten will continue their education at colleges; one will begin job training; four will join the service and two have said they will take government secretarial positions in Washington, D. C, for which they have qualified.
Those who will begin college in the fall are Miss Joan S. Ojala, daughter of Kusti F. Ojala, Shore Road at Pembroke college, Providence; Robert D. Merchant, son of Floyd L. Merchant, Cherry Street, Buzzards Bay at Acadia College, New Brunswick; Beverly A. Bosnengo, daughter of John J. Bosnengo, Buzzards Bay Avenue at Becker Junior College, Worcester; Gary H. Willey, son of Herbert A. Willey, Wings Neck Road, Pocasset at Bentley School of Accounting, Boston; Mary Ann Bernabel of 12 Bayberry Road at Bridgewater State Teachers College, Bridgewater; Donna L. Spectre, daughter of Harry S. Spectre, 180 Aptuxcet Road, Mashnee Village at Leslie College, Cambridge; Carol A. Cook, daughter of Robert W. Cook 39 Wilson Avenue, Buzzards Bay at Bryant College of Business Administration, Providence; Peter W. Mackesy, son of Vincent A. Mackesy, Shore Road. Monument Beach at Boston University Junior College, Boston; Crystal A. Campbell, daughter of Clayton Edward Campbell Shore Road, accepted at Simmons College, Boston and Ronald H. Bassett, son of Robert R. Bassett, Cotuit Road at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Attending hairdressing school is Patricia Medeiros.
Four seniors will join the service soon after graduation. They are Edward Crowell, Harry Curry, Barry Girard and Robert Thompson.
Rita Turner and Joyce Dill are two of the five seniors who qualified for government secretarial work through exams and believe they may go to Washington, D.C. in the fall.
Classes End
Classes for seniors ended Friday.
Last night was class night.
Seats will be available for visitors at graduation where Dr. Gordon Thayer, headmaster of Thayer Academy, Braintree will make the commencement address.
Robert Merchant will .give the welcome address and Miss Joan Ojala will give the farewell speech.
Robert R. Bassett will present diplomas to graduating seniors, among them, his son.
Music will be played by the Shawme Orchestra.
