Carol Gavazza, F.E. Winterbottom Wed in Sagamore
A single ring ceremony united Carol Marie Gavazza and Frederick E. Winterbottom at St. Teresa's Church in Sagamore on Saturday. September 28.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Giovanni Gavazza, while the bridegroom Is the son of Sgt. and Mrs. Lawrence Winterbottom of Buzzards Bay.
Wearing a gown of white Chantilly lace and satin with a Sabrlna neckline, the bride carried a Bible with white orchid streamers. She was given ln marriage by her father. Mrs. Amerlco Mula served her sister as matron of honor, with Mr. Mula as best man.
Bridesmaids were Marcla Sorenti and the bride's cousin and Anna Casanova of Cataumet. John Sanford and Emiliano Gavazza, the bride's brother, were ushers, while Donna R. Spooner of Falmouth served as flower girl.
Mrs. Mula wore a coral chiffon gown with matching crown, while the bridesmaids were also attired in chiffon gowns with crowns to match, one of turquoise and the other yellow. The flower girl wore a pink chiffon dress and carried an old fashioned bouquet.
Baskets of gladioli decorated the church for the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. William LeBlanc. Mrs. John Wilson was organist and Mrs. Quinto Coppi soloist.
The reception which followed in the Marconi club was attended by relatives and friends. The club hall was decorated with baskets of mixed flowers.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Winterbottom were graduated from Bourne High School in the class of 1955. Mr. Winterbottom is a member of the Air Force while his bride, until recently, was employed by the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.
Their wedding trip took the couple to their new home in San Antonio. Texas where the bridegroom is stationed.
