Record Hop Saturday Aids United Fund
At the Friday meeting of the Bourne High School Code Club it was announced that the opening record hop for the school year, held the previous Saturday evening, drew the largest attendance of any since the dances began two years ago. Nearly $30 in profit was realized for the club scholarship fund.
Members voted to donate profits from the next hop scheduled for this Saturday evening at the high school cafetorium to the Cape Cod United Fund drive. Mrs. Arthur D. Kemp, Rotary advisor to the club, announced that a special feature of the hop will be the appearance of Jerry Corbitt of Otis Air Force base, a 1961 Bourne High School graduate. Jerry, who plays electric guitar, was a popular entertainer at some of last year's hops.
Additional committee chairmen for the club year were announced by president Patricia Lively.
Janet Shay will head the Interclub Committee: Teresa Prete, Social Committee, and Mary Minihan, Project Committee.
The next meeting of the Code Club will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the high school.
