Doris Ann Matie and Franklin Stephen Starnes Wed

Miss Matie Wed at Parents' Home to A2class Starnes
Miss Doris Ann Matie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Matie of Wyman Avenue, Monument Beach, was married to Franklin Stephen Starnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Starnes of Elizabeth Town, Ind., at the home of her parents Monday afternoon at a double ring ceremony.
The Rev. Orville E. Crain performed the ceremony.
The house was decorated with bouquets of spring flowers.
Given in marriage by her father, Miss Matie wore a Delft blue wool box type suit with a corsage of white roses.
Mother of the bride wore a dove grey tailored suit with a corsage of yellow rose buds.
Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Miss Carlene Matie, wore a petal pink wool gabardine suit and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
Best man was Jerry Bell of Monument Beach.
Fifty guests attended the reception.
Present were the bride's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles B. Lindberg and her great aunts Mrs. Edgar S. Bolles and Mrs. Elwell H. Smith.
The couple will visit Mr. Starnes's home on their wedding trip and will make their home in Wareham upon their return June 1.
Miss Matie was graduated from Bourne High School in 1956 and attended Wilfred academy in Boston.
She is a member of the Bourne Methodist Church Choir.
Mr. Starnes is an Airman Second Class and electrician with the Air Force at Otis. He is a graduate of North Vernon High School class of 1953.
