Alfred B. MacNally Jr. of County Road, Monument Beach, who has taken out papers to run for the five year position on the Planning Board, will oppose Edward D. Bement of Wings Neck Road, Pocasset who had held that seat for some years.

Mr. MacNally was born and brought up in Buzzards Bay and graduated in 1948 from Bourne High School.

He served in the Navy as second class pipefitter out of Norfolk on LSD and oil tankers from 1950-53.

He was married in 1951 to the former Miss Joan Forrest of Sagamore.

He went into business with his father after graduation from high school and at that time took on the bottle gas business in addition to the already established plumbing work. Following his release from service he returned to work in the plumbing and gas business, and holds a journeyman's license. He is also an active member of the call fire department at Monument Beach.
