Arthur Watt Jr. Accidentally Shot
Arthur Watt Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Watt of County Road, Pocasset, is home from Tobey Hospital following an accident Saturday in which he was accidentally shot in the leg.
A group of boys was engaged in target practice with rifles. Arthur was spectator, the only one without a rifle. One of the shooters tripped and fell, discharging his rifle. The bullet entered Arthur's leg just above the ankle.
A Bourne High senior and an outstanding school athlete, Arthur will be confined with a cast on his leg for about four weeks. He was chosen in the fall a, member of the Cape All Star Football team, and he was a member of Bourne High's championship golf team.
At home he will have the company of his sister, Marcia, on crutches after treatment at Tobey Hospital just a week earlier after a bowling ball fell on her foot, breaking two toes.
