A Touch of Arson at BHS Bonfire
In spite of a rainy night, the great pile of lumber and tires which Bourne High students had reared next to the Junior High in preparation for Wednesday's pep rally was touched off late Tuesday night.
Fire was reported to the fire department at 5:50 A.M. and was fought for an hour. Even after that the charred pile smoked through the morning. With school out at noon, the Bourne High boys assembled another pile so there was a bonfire as focal point of Wednesday's cheering session before the Wareham game.
As this is the second straight year in which the BHS bonfire has been prematurely set, there is suspicion of arson.
