Mauvreen Delaney Becomes Bride Of David F. Smith

Miss Mauvreen Marie Delaney of Buzzards Bay became the bride of David Francis Smith in a marriage ceremony Saturday, Aug. 30, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Buzzards Bay in a double ring service conducted by the Rev. David O'Brien. Mrs. Harry Robbins played traditional selections on the organ and accompanied Mrs. Eugene Sweeney, soloist. The chancel was decorated with baskets of white gladioli and white bows and flowers marked the family pews.

The bride, escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk linen lace designed with a fitted bodice and scalloped boat neckline over which she wore a fitted waist length jacket of the same material. Her ballerina length skirt, pleated from the waist, fell softly over a hoop. She wore a fingertip length veil of illusion which fell from a sequined crown and carried white carnations and white snapdragons arranged on a lace fan.

Mrs. Michael Grady of St. Johnsbury, VT serving as maid of honor, wore a chiffon gown over silk featuring a draped bodice and full ballerina length skirt with a band of matching flowers in her hair. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow carnations and babies breath.

Bridesmaids were Miss Patricia Anne Delaney, sister of the bride wearing mint green and Miss Valerie Gogg of Hollis, L.I., wearing soft pink and carried cascade bouquets of pink and yellow carnations. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Kathleen Delaney and Miss Gladys Gogg both wearing white over mint green satin and carrying yellow and white colonial bouquets.

Serving as best man for the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Smith of Taunton was Michael Grady of St. Johnsbury, VT while George Boler of Assonet and Charles Reed of Taunton were ushers.

About 200 guests attended the reception and buffet luncheon held in St. Margaret's hall immediately following the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a yellow silk dress and white accessories and wore a yellow rose corsage as they left on their wedding trip. On their return the couple will reside In Jefferson Shores.

The new Mrs. Smith was graduated from Bourne High school with the class of '57 and is employed at a supermarket.

Mr. Smith, graduated from Coyle High school in Taunton, is a mechanic.

Guests at the wedding Included the bride's paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Delaney of Brockton, and friends and relatives from Hollls, New York, Rhode Island, Acushnet and Fall River, as well as surrounding towns.
