High School Graduates Bound for College
Robert A. Mendes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel R. Mendes of Main Street, Sagamore, has been accepted at Northeastern University where he plans to major in engineering. A 1962 graduate of Bourne High School, he has been a member of the golf and track teams.
James M. McCahill, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. McCahill of Scraggy Neck Road, C ataumet, has been accepted at Tufts University where he plans to major in physics. He was a member of the Student Council during his senior year, played varsity baseball and golf.
David G. Gibbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gardner G. Gibbs of Barlow's Landing Road, Pocasset has been accepted at the University of Massachusetts where he will major in business administration. David has played on the basketball and golf teams, was a member of the Shawme Band and Chorus, French Club and worked on the yearbook.
Mary F. Minihan has been accepted at Bridgewater State college.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Minihan of Shore road, Bourne, Mary has been active in extra-curricular affairs. She has been a member of the Athletic Association, business manager of the yearbook, member and vice-president of the French Club, member of the Code Club and vice-president of her senior class. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was a delegate at Girls State.
Gordon A. Oliosi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon E. Oliosi of Blueberry Road, Buzzards Bay, has been accepted at the University of Massachusetts where he plans to major in business administration. He played in Shawme Band and Orchestra, has been a member of the Chorus and French Club. He played basketball and baseball, was in the class play and worked on the yearbook.
Linda Carol Roberts, daughter of Master Sgt. and Mrs. Ardus Roberts of Doolittle Avenue, Otis, has been accepted at St. Anne's School of Nursing at Fall River. Linda was a member of Student Council, won the Gregg Shorthand Award in her junior year and was chairman of the Prom Committee.
Beverly Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Smith of Russell Road, Gray Gables has been accepted at the Campbell School of New Bedford where she will study IBM key-punch. Beverly was a member of the Student Council, Athletic Association, Chorus and the basketball team.
Brian William Van Auken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Van Auken of Cohasset Avenue, Buzzards Bay, has been accepted at Northeastern University where he will major in business administration. He has been active in sports in high school and played football, basketball, golf and track and Is a member of the Varsity Club.
Harry E. Graham Jr., son of CWO and Mrs. Harry E. Graham of LeMay Avenue, Otis, has been accepted at Wentworth Institute where he will study mechanical engineering. Harry was e photographer for the yearbook.
John J. Holland 2d, son of Mr. and. Mrs. John J. Holland of Shore Road, Pocasset has been accepted at Northeastern where he will prepare for medicine. John played on the golf team was photographer and typist on the yearbook, assisted with the class play in sound and props and exhibited work in science fairs.
